'EDWARDIAN LIFE: THE STORY OF H.AVRAY TIPPING'

by Helena Gerrish

Tipping wrote regular gardening columns for the national press and copious Country Life articles recording our great country houses and their gardens. As such Gerrish argues he was responsible for the middle-classes adopting the ambition of the country house weekend. Gerrish has also not only researched and written about Tipping, but also undertaken the painstaking restoration of his own garden at High Glanau, high above Monmouth and the Usk Valley.
