An artist and knowledgeable plants-woman Sarah has been designing and creating the gardens at Charlton Farm for twelve years, turning fields in sensitively planted areas, each with a different feel. Her design ethos is to combine formality and informality whilst allowing the planting to sit within and work with nature. The garden areas spread over three acres include: herbaceous borders; box parterre; cutting gardens; a gravel garden; woodlands and a shrub garden. Beyond this, in 2016, she planted a diverse selection of trees adding further interest to the flat farmland.
